I am planning to book tickets for my parents travelling from India to US and returning back to India after 2 months. I have some questions:
1) Is it necessary to book tickets in India?
2) If not, Can I book tickets through orbitz or expedia in the US and send them the e-tickets?
Please reply with your experiences.

you can book from expedia/orbitz. We recently booked on American Airlines for parents.

Thanks for your kind advice. I tried to take Infopass now. Shockingly, no appointment is available for August and September. Is there any way that we can get emergency Infopass at Local office?

For a person holding a 10-year multiple entry B1/B2 visa, how long can they stay for each visit. Is it determined at the port of entry by the officer? or is there a standard like 30 days or something per visit? I know parents visiting can stay for max of 6 months. Can they travel across to canada and then reenter for another 6 months? Just curious.

I am not sure, if this is true. I knew couple of people got H1 approved and never start working. They remained only in status H4.
So check with attorney.
This is not true. We are a case study for this scenario. We were not able file to our I-485 because my wife was out-of-status by not working on H1B. Our attorney advised to go out of the country and come back on H4 so we can file our I-485. If you have received H1-B approval with I-94 attached to it, it means your COS was requested by the employer and your new status is H1B and not H4. Even if you have unexpired H4 visa stamp in your passport it becomes invalid. You will get a new visa when you go for stamping.
So check with attorney.

We are being told that they are holding all of them for now. We are unsure
where this will land because of congressional pressure and lawsuits that

I have described my situation below. Can someone please tell me if they have ever encountered this and what is the best avenue to take?
1. My LC was sent back to me on Tues (after 4 years).
2. It was neither denied nor approved. They said that I did not make at least 95% of prevailing wage rate.
3. I am currently a little less than that if I can take into account all bonuses etc.
4. The company's immigration lawyer (outside counsel) is saying that if I think that I will probably meet the wage rate threshhold by the time entire GC process is complete, then it's OK to amend LC and say that, "Yes, I am making that much money".
5. Else - other option is to challenge the DOLs definition of prevailing wage rate.
6. Company lawyer/HR (I don't think any of them have any immigration law background) are all confused about it. They are not sure whether I can take bonuses into account. If I don't - then it is less likely that I wil reach prevailing wage rate at next review.
7. Also - they are uncomfortable saying that I WILL meet PW. I guess they think that I will hold them to it and then just slack off until my review.

I remember the anticipation among IV members before the monthly bulletin came out. As many EB2 folks have got GC looks like the craze has died down. Very few replies to the visa bulletin thread.
I wish everyone gets their GC's sooner than later.
Not really, it was well known that there is no movement expected in OCT, NOV and DEC bulletin, July, Aug and Sept are action months.

You cant file H1 on your own. You need ur employers signature on it and ur employer has to file the petition. Even if you beat all that it is still very very risky to file on your own.
I strongly discourage the word "Attorney" for everything. Just because of memebers like kriskris these Attroney's are living lavishly. What the heck these Attroneys know that we don't know. Don't we know how to write our names? Don't we know how to fill an application form? Please stop saying "Attroney" for everything. These are not complex things. Please note according to one survey 70% of Americans don't know how to fill Bank application. Attroneys are just making the money out of this situation.

If you look at the forms page on the USCIS website, it says previous editions of the I-485 form accepted.

Hardly anyone has volunteered to go to USCIS with nixstor. That's sad. We are getting a megaphone to talk about our problems and yet in the entire DC area with a huge IV membership, we have just one person willing to go to USCIS.

i had the same situation. your friend can apply for H1-B coz he is already counted. He'll loose whatever time that he is used on EAD and get the remaining time that is left on his 6 year period. If 6 years is already passed, he can still file for H1-B based on labor, 140 approval. In my case, my H1-B got denied coz of employer issues and i have an another H1-B with another company. Mean while i have filed AC21 with my new employer to be able to work..Hope this helps..

You can open a PO Box in your name and update the address with USCIS. I've done that.

The only question i have is, my employer though a bank, is not willing to give me a copy of my I140 WHATSOEVER. I tried numerous times and they only say that the attorney (FRAGOMEN) has advised not to give the copy of I140 to the beneficiary. With the banks you know..they may be around or shut any time.
Can you please advise, COPY OF I140 IS REQUIRED, for porting the priority date to new employer?
