makes sense that they upgrade the 15 and 17 and not the 13, the 13 inch is pretty good as it is, they just need to upgrade the hard drives to 250 and 320gb and the 15 and 17 inch should reach 1TB

Nope.
oops... your right I'd missed the ITU's back flip.
So I guess 4G means whatever, or nothing....
I guess the real 4G will be 6 or 7G but the time the marketing departments get their way.

As an aside, that little localized color-correcting demo (watch the video of the event) is more sophisticated than Aperture's Brushes approach. It would be nice to see that feature move over to stills. And if FCX can render all that heavy video that quickly and in the background, why does it still take more than, say, instantly to load a RAW file? They need to put that guy Randy Ubillos in charge of the Aperture team for next rewrite.

off switch or not, you have to realize that the more companies will be manufacturing 3D devices, the more companies will create 3D content for these devices
it's a crappy circle...
Who cares if someone creates 3D content for a device? Again, explain the negative here? How does this hurt you as a 2D viewer. Unless they start making 3D only content, your experience should not change.
As much as I don't like 3D stuff being shoved down my face, I also like the choice of being able to view something in 3D, rather than not having the choice at all.
I find it strange how there's so much angst against something that is completely optional to the user. That's like me being annoyed someone else is able to turn on Bluetooth.

Thats no true.
Apple just a few days ago released Mac OS X 10.6.7 and was only 475MB, and the Combo update was only 1.12GB. Mac OS X 10.6.6 brought the Mac App Store and was only 143MB.
I don't know why your updates are 4GB.

I seem to remember Wal-Mart's CEO saying in a CNBC show that his company doesn't bully vendors.....what a load.
Yes, my publishing company does business with WalMart and they do intimidate and bully. For sure.
I avoid shopping there at all costs.

Man, Apple keeps getting lower and lower. First Walmart, now this?
...and they showed one of the 'good' retailers, Costco, the door.
couldn't get one today at the apple store in Atlanta, best buy, or target. would love to be able to pick one up already.
Which Apple Store did you try, there is more than one in ATL.

I'm not sure why, but like many, I don't like 3D either. However, when the iPad can project a holographic touch.... ho..lo...gram? (Yes lets go with that)

I think most of the blame lies with Motorola. Think of it this way, they have not even given Apple a processor that is fully DDRAM compatible (let alone enought speed bumps). Its a hash up system at the moment. I think when we get a full DDRAM G4 + the speed bump we need in Janaury the systems will get the performance needed.

Oh boy, get up early Sunday morning to wait in line with scalpers...
I won't wait in line either... but I do hope this helps satisfy demand. Lack of availability is getting to be an old/tiresome story. I want to buy an iPad, but don't want to stand in line from 3 AM to do so.

Seriously, i could care less about the wait...my computer works fine. I am currently using an Apple IIc...it kicks ass. I had to update it a bit to be able to use the internet though. Do you think i would be better to wait for the Santa Rosa platform to get a MBP? or just get the merom on the current.....and please don't say "if you keep waiting, there will always be something new around the corner and you will wait forever."
I still have an Apple IIe somewhere is my house those computers seriously were cool when they were released how many years ago.
And you a right about putting off until the next update, I think most users forget about the "what do I really need?" question and concerntrate on the latest and greatest "next tuesday" release. I'm still using my G4 Mac Mini, it does everything I need but it doesn't have a Merom, Santa Rosa, etc and I am one happy Mac user.

OK they build it. Would YOU work there? I think after screwing the rear cover into my 100,000th iPhone I'd go nuts.

my battery is one of the one's that needs replaced, but the website won't take the serial number (verified by someone at apple) and tech support is clogged for the day, so hopefully sometime later this week i can get a battery sent to me. anyway, if anyone else goes there and has the 5 digit number in the range but it won't take your serial number be sure to call apple because it could be a website error.

I love voice control. But the robustness of the headphone/microphones seems lacking. Seems if they decide to tought this feature, they should improve the build and make them more sweat/water resistant,

Is it just me, or does the new iTunes logo look horrible in the dock? It doesnt seem to match anything, and it just doesnt look as "clean" as the typical dock logos have been/should be. When i went to click iTunes for the first time and it changed from the nice/clean green logo to this blue cheesy looking 1995 icon, I was pretty surprised!
it doesn't look right to me. The icon seems HUGE, it seems like the used every single pixel available to them while other icons were allowed to breathe.
Check it..

I don't have either, but I was wondering which set was better, overall I guess
In that case, I'd recommend the Mono set plus Abbey Road and Let It Be separately.
The Mono is supposed to be limited (although we know that usually doesn't mean much), but you run the risk of not being able to get it at some point.

I really hope he isn't under the Keynesian impression that war is good for one's economy. This is the mark of an empire in decline.
Not this crap about Obama being born in Kenya again!
Can you point out any war in history that meets your ivory tower qualifications?
The civil war, world war two and the star wars trilogy.

What's this about datapads? I managed to get through the game on Heroic & half on Legendary without finding even one. Don't make me go through all that again!
Yep, the game has some datapads in all of the various levels. Much like the Terminals in Halo 3, and the Audio Logs in ODST, these are sort of hidden. They all tell a different bit of side story, or back story. Not really required, per se, but they do give some good info if you do hunt them down.
I still don't understand why Halsey was kept in a glass cell.
She sealed herself off because of the Covenant attack on Sword Base, to try and keep herself and her research safe. At least, that is what I took of it.
I'd love to play through the series again, starting with Reach and then Halo, etc., but I've never tried playing Halo on a 360. Does it play/look ok?
Yep, both Halo 1 & 2 work just fine on the 360. They have turned off the old Xbox Live servers, so obviously you won't be able to play Halo 2 online, but the campaigns from both games will work fine.
Halo Wars >> Reach >> Halo 1 >> Halo 2 >> ODST >> Halo 3
I'm growing more and more disenchanted with Multi-player though...I'd rather pop in Halo 3...the game variants and maps are much more enticing...
I sort of agree. I've been having a real hit-or-miss experience with the Multiplayer lately. Either the games go great, and are fun, or there is tons of quitting, and the games fall apart. I really like BTB and Invasion, and both of them could really stand to have some of the maps looked at with regards to the spawns and balance issues. The game could be quite fun, but it still needs some work to refine it a bit.
On a slightly related note, I have hit Lt. Colonel, and my Spartan has had some new modifications done to him... :D

I have to jump back in here, thanks to the comment below, though.
I'm of the opinion that "dangerous" is EXACTLY the right word to use! Look, it's GREAT if you've got a successful marriage where both of you can responsibly share one bank account and manage money in such a way where you always approve of what your partner is doing with it. But that's clearly not possible for ALL relationships!
If you ask people what the biggest factors were when they got a divorce, you'd find that besides the "he/she cheated on me" story, the other TOP reason would be financial issues/stresses.
My partner and I will probably always keep our own separate bank accounts, and it seems to me that's far EASIER to manage than if we lumped everything together. What we've been doing lately is using a PayPal account of mine as a place we can both dump money into, as needed, if we want to pay for something together. (For example, our clothes washer just broke and I went out to get a new one. She put some of her last paycheck into PayPal to help pay for it.) Otherwise, I never leave a balance in that account - so it makes it really easy to use it for this purpose. With other things, we just split up the responsibilities of who is going to pay for what. She takes care of the gas bills that come in, for example, and does all of the grocery shopping. I always pay the mortgage payment myself. She pays for her vehicle payment and I pay for mine.
With this arrangement, both of us know that the money we make is all accounted for. (No way I want to deal with the uncertainty of thinking I have X amount in checking to buy something with, but find out after I write a check that we only had Y amount, because she bought things on the debit card that day I wasn't aware of.) We also get to feel like the things that we buy personally are still our personal purchases.
This isn't about "trying to sneak something past the other person". With this arrangement, that doesn't even come up. If you buy it with money in your bank account, then I don't *care* -- so you shouldn't even need to feel like it had to be "snuck past me" in the first place!
"Dangerous" ... this is junk talk. Who have you been listening to that suggests this? My wife and I have been married 12 years and have shared the same bank account that whole time, no separate accounts. (Jesus, what a nightmare to keep track of!) We've never once had a conflict about spending like you suggest we should. Why? because we live as WeegieMac does, the poster you're ripping on. We have respect for each other and our mutual needs as well as our individual desires. And we make sacrifices when we need to - both of us. Most of the responses in here act like marriage is a competition to see who can get what, or who can sneak this or that past their spouse. It's just shameful. What a tiring life that must be.
