It would be really disappointing if they waited with this upgrade for mwsf 2007.
I don't think we'll see a new MB at MWSF 2007. Possibly a bit later than that in time for the Leopard release.
But then again we never know.

Just a quick question: would this e-book feature be able to see images embedded in the e-book? or just text?
I surely hope so, comics and manga would be a huge hit especially in Japan.
The next big thing can be games via iTunes, talk about a controllable environment for the publishers.

My battery serial number was in the 3K437 range, but the website accepted my computers serial number, but not the battery...
So i changed the last letter of my battery serial number from an A to a C (B diden't work)
And it went thru.....
:D sweet
Wow, I have already replied to this one above, but below is his brother apparently.
I have a battery that seems to be on the recall list, I have a PB G4 - Model No. A1148 - Serial No. 3K542...A. But it says that the serial number is invalid. I did try to see if I could switch the last part of the number which is an "A" to "B" or "C" and while it did not take "B", it did take "C" as a valid serial number. I have had my battery for 10 months and it has worked fine and charges up to 100% with no problem and I have had no heating issues to date.
Anyway, I don't know what's up with their site. Just thought I'd contribute my two cents.
So even though I have a MBP and not a PB I can probably get a new battery as well by changing the serial numbers despite what is really on my battery.
COOL!!!!!!!!!!

The current camera on the iPhone 4 is stellar IMO and many others... an equal 8MP camera would be even better....
I agree, its a great camera overall.
Availability?
With the millions of these the iphone takes maybe adding the millions the ipad2 would use is beyond the current capacity of their manufacturers?
Or, if production capacity would have meant to introduce the ipad2 later, they used what was available at the time.
As for $ 5 more, multiply that with the amount of devices they make and it's millions of dollars. In any company a net cost of $ 5 doesn't stay that way. It gets multiplied up to retail.
Deliberate ploy, don't think so. But, since we both don't have any proof..........
I thought it was for space reasons? Isnt the iphone camera module much thicker than the ipad and ipod ones?

I *knew* there was a reason I bought the 17".... :p
I wonder why it doesn't include the 17". I purchased the latest model G4 17" PB and I am sure it uses the same type of Sony batteries. It's just that the 17" runs a little cooler because there is more room and surface area to disipate the heat.
I hope this isn't just a money saving issue on Apple's part and that the 17" PB batteries aren't defective also.

Yeah, iPods are a fad. Who knows how long this fad will last.
I can tell you one thing, is as long as Apple continues to make them better, and continue to listen to their customers.
It will stop being a fad, and it will be a way of life...

Mass attacks--viruses/worms/etc.--are by far the most likely threat to encounter, but you can also be individually attacked, or tricked by someone's WiFi trap. Mac owners too should keep that in mind. Just because we are so safe from viruses doesn't mean security is ever 100%.
And the people doing this demo seem to have been responsible about it--telling Apple and the other affected companies the details, but NOT telling the public.
So... good catch!

makes it obvious that over 50% of the people on the Apple forums were and are blinded by only being able to "see the future" in terms of the past.
When I saw the iPod, I bought APPL stock at $20/share. It is now by far my biggest stock holding in terms of $$$.
Just had to check it: iPod was released Oct 23rd 2001 for $399. Assuming 8.25% sales tax that would be $431.92. That bought 23.8 AAPL shares at the closing prices of $18.14. There was a split, so you would have 47.6 shares worth $330.67 at close on March 18th, for a total of $15,740.
I conclude that all those people buying iPods had not the slightest clue how the Apple share price would develop :D

3) Demand that all female employees shave their mustaches.
I am 73 years old, I live in Rogers, AR as does my daughter. My daughter is a Walmart employee! She does not have a mustache! The preceding remark is, in my opinion, unnecessary, cruel and sexist.
There is a great deal about Wal Mart to depise but none of them justify such a gatuitous attack on women, many of whom are single parents, that work hard there to support their families.:(

Buyer satisfaction with other Apple products is clearly filtering down into Mac sales. This trend will only continue to strengthen.

The only "Open" Media standard is Vorbis and FLAC.
it was a rhetorical question is response to MacFly123 and Knightlie's arguments that apple only follows open standards, which still allow them to create a media rich website using only open standards, that QuickTime is not.
on a lighter note: this is one of my fav flash sites (http://www.onemotion.com/flash/spider/). as you can tell, it's built only with HTML, javascript and CSS :p

I just want the graphics card to be more than a lame 64MB. Every other manufacturer on the planet has at least 128 in their notebooks shared or otherwise.
I would buy a Macbook in a heart beat if they did that. Hell... With the money I'll save from buying a Macbook pro I might get two one black and one white.

LOL! I always knew that the ipad was just a toy. Now Toys R Us are selling them, HOW APPROPRIATE.
I guess now days everyones a comedian. Stevamundo ladies and gentleman!
And on topic, The Apple Store, is always your best bet for anything apple. They tend to stock plenty of iPads, so long as you get there when they open.

It would be cool if you could buy comics this way as well. Maybe when you buy a physical comic, it could give you a code to enter at the iTMS (iTunes Media Store) to download a CBR version of it.
Right now, you can download all sorts of comics on BitTorrent as CBR or PDF format, and Marvel (www.marvel.com) has a pretty cool online (Flash-based, I think) comic reader from their website.
I'd love to be able to pony up some amount of money and have, say, the entire run of X-Men at my disposal for reading. And controlling the DRM on a comic would be easier than that of music, or even text.

from John Gruber:
"Oh, also, a slogan for the show: Theres something in the air. My guess is its an AirPort-enabled network backup storage device for Time Machine."
maybe its just me but that seems a bit......... unexciting to base the entire theme of a macworld on.
