That's not what the article says. I interpreted it to mean that someone or some department within some publishing company was told... by someone else at the publishing company... to get all of their manuscripts archived and sent over to Apple.
That was my reading, that they were ordered by their sbosses in the company to get the manuscripts ready and sent to Apple, presumably because of a deal between the two companies.

big film studios were currently running around like blue arsed flies trying to gear up to release plenty of 3D content in time for Apples next launch.
...for iTunes downloads only. The new cloud based iTunes will have 3D movie content.
The iPad 3 will not have a 3D screen but you'll be about to stream 3D movies to your new 3D enabled TV.

Another mythical creature that should be easily recognizable. Unlike the unicorn, I was able to get into a good position and fit the entire Pegasus in the frame. I'm glad because I really liked the dynamic pose.

Is anyone else having the issue with the double vibrate when you get a text?? I had this issue with 4.3 and I have heard no complaining about it. Everyone I know who has 4.3 has the double vibrate so it's not just my phone, but I haven't heard anyone else say anything. It's pretty annoying. Anyway, I was just wondering if this fixed that issue or not.

This is almost the exact post I wrote yesterday on the last 4.3 update thread. It is driving ne nuts. And I'm sure I was able to distinguish between texts and emails before. I'm filing it under bug too.
Mr. Hatbasket and MacFreak:
In case you are curious, I just had my wife text me (I have 3G3 running iOS 4.3) and I set my phone to vibrate. When she texted, it only vibrated once. So I'm guessing there is a setting that isn't working for you. Since you are saying that you know several people this is happening to, then I doubt it would be a file corruption issue.
I hope this helps.

I do understand people hate for 3D displays, but people calling it a fad, it's not. Not any more anyways.
It is now a part of technological evolution for TVs and image devices.
Calling 3D a fad right now is like calling colour TV a fad in the 1950s. Just like how colour TV to start wasn't perfect, 3D isn't perfect yet either.
We all know Apple is the king of imaging technologies, they wouldn't release a product with something like a 3D screen without it being perfect and "magical".

"All that hype for an MP3 player? Break-thru digital device? The Reality Distiortion Field is starting to warp Steve's mind if he thinks for one second that this thing is gonna take off. "
Haha.....Macrumors readers were SO wrong in that thread. It's quite hilarious, actually. Not only was it a breakthrough device, it completely changed the entire music industry! So much so, Bon Jovi was recently quoted "Steve Jobs killed the music business".

The developer behind the Facebook app says he's quit the project because off App Store policies. To TechCrunch he said:
"My decision to stop iPhone development has had everything to do with Apples policies. I respect their right to manage their platform however they want, however I am philosophically opposed to the existence of their review process. I am very concerned that they are setting a horrible precedent for other software platforms, and soon gatekeepers will start infesting the lives of every software developer.
The web is still unrestricted and free, and so I am returning to my roots as a web developer. In the long term, I would like to be able to say that I helped to make the web the best mobile platform available, rather than being part of the transition to a world where every developer must go through a middleman to get their software in the hands of users.
The Facebook app is one of the most downloaded apps and is well-respected. Apple cannot afford to lose really good developers because of their lousy policies. This is going to have to cahnge because clearly there is something wrong here.

You are still not getting it. It does cost a fraction to build things outside the US.
Ohhh, I get it. Trust me. But there's more to "it" than just a 3-paragraph overview of the entire way the US decides to do business. I think a high percentage of Americans will agree that the business models (taxes, outsourcing, low US manufacturing, unions, wages, health benefits, etc) are basically killing our way of life.
Maybe in 10-15 years the US will finally realize how much damage has been done and will start to get back in shape.

Bummer - 14" iBook is not affected. No new battery for me.
My thoughts exactly. Makes me wonder why the 14" iBook isn't affected.

read this somewhere- not sure if it has been posted here yet. Seems like the MBP at the end of the banner has a different (thinner) speaker design than both the current MBP 15' & 17'
Here are some images of the banner, MBP 15 & 17
It's just a bad shot. Look at this image (http://flickr.com/photos/66488342@N00/206062001/in/set-72157594223273881/)
It's clearly the current MBP.

Thinkpads are built incredibly well.
They may be the case but they sure don't look it. Every Windows laptop that I have seen (I have seen quite a lot of them) and they all seem to have one thing in common, they look like a chimp put them together. There is absolutely no vision in design to how the Windows PC manufactuters build their machines. It's like they have a parts bin and could care less about how they put the parts together. When I pick up a Windows PC laptop all I can think is what a piece of junk it is. A $600 piece of junk is still a piece of junk. The Windows PC towers aren't any better.
My $1300 laptop at work requires me to press a button to release the lid before it can be opened. I still can't figure out why anyone would be willing to spend $1300 on it vs. a 13" Macbook Pro.
A few years back I had a 8 year old iMac, the daisy design. I eneded up selling it for $350. I also had a HP Windows PC tower that was 5 years old. No one wanted to buy it so I ended up donating it to the Goodwill. Pretty much puts in perspective the value of Windows PCs.

odd works for me too changing the last letter to a B instead of an A
The same is true for me. Is that supposed to be a glitch on their website, or they are that precise in picking out bad batteries from the bunch?

Putting aside the fact that Flash is crap, fair enough for Adobe for being so frank.
You are in such a HUGE minority of Flash bashers....learn to love it!.....cuz just like taxes, you're gettin' it on your iPhone pal.

I do understand ... very clearly
we do not need to cut corners on things like Helicopters by hanging onto ancient machines like the Sea King Helicopters or as they are known ..."flying coffins"
http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/cdnmilitary/seaking.html
You still have not answered the question. For what purpose does Canada need a larger military? Who is the threat?
Cheers,
Ahmed
