This would be great, espessialy if the display would be of a more "reader pleasant" kind, like the new digital paper books from Sony & Co ;)

iLounge has a "First Look" article with photos of all models and accessories. They say that the new nanos have the Search and Smart Scroll feature of the new 5G iPod. Hopefully we with the plastic nanos won't miss out on that. I'm expecting an iPod Updater soon.

That guy doesn't touch tens of thousands of n-tier professional developers who write call center suites, engineering applications, Wall Street Financial applications, Power Plant applications, etc.
Seriously, he's a kid who got known for Firebug. BFD.
That's an absurd argument. Hewitt has written one of the most popular applications for an emerging consumer platform. You're going to discount his significance in this context because he doesn't write industrial applications for narrow markets? What's your criterion for becoming a relevant developer -- coding packet switching routines for an Avaya KSU? Please.
Furthermore, his age is irrelevant.
Your post smells of jealousy and indignant condescension. I'm sorry that you haven't attained the fame you dreamt of by writing a nuclear power plant management system in ADA. Try to get over yourself.

The main thing, sadly, is the lack of positive male role models
But why is that?? Why is there an issue in black communities (and apparently not just in the US) where there is a lack of men wanting to be fathers. As for the aunt jemina and uncle ben reference, not sure what you meant by that but came off as a bit racist.

What these naysayers are NOT saying is what pro features are missing. Until they list something wrong with it, they are just being irrational. My experience is, lots of guys don't like their pro apps getting too easy to use, because they want their skills to be considered special. They hate it when, "Anyone can do it".
Yes i imagine this is partly true, because creative/talented upstarts who do not have years of complex/technical experience, on a much smaller budget can preform at a much closer level to those with many more years of experience.
I say closer level because as mentioned earlier there is much more that goes into professional editing than software know how. With that said, the upstarts present real competition to the entrenched because they can - on a smaller budget - more easily produce comparable work - which might have the effect of lowering the amount entrenched professionals can charge for their work.

it does not even make sense to put a phone there, since when can phones do RSS? Its just really fishy tt it is placed alongside the ipod and itunes.
Many phones are capable, they can use 3rd party apps etc, but new phones such as the Sony Ericsson K800 has a built in RSS reader!
As for the phone in the picture, it looks like a Sony ERicsosn K608 or someting along those lines....not a very good phone, so lets hope Apple doesnt use that as a bas to model the iPhone on...lol
Cheers

So Walmart is full of obese hillbillies?
I bought my iPad 2 at Walmart: 7 folks in line, 15 iPad 2's. Everyone was very nice. Im a 24yr old 6'2'', 190lb Systems engineer(with all my teeth)...and I shop there all the time. Dont hate...
I went to walmart on launch day at 4pm I was #5 in line and they had 6. Best Buy had 40 in line. I was out of there by 5:05 with my 64 gig wifi. I ordered one for my wife on line I got a 5 week date. They sent my cover right away, and took full payment from my debit card. Thats why they should send the ordered ones before they open to another chain.

Looking forward to the updates, no doubt. Will be my first Mac and the waiting is what makes us feel alive. ;) It's like those old time Heinz ketchup commercials that always end up in "the best thing comes to those who wait".

On a side note, is this the same battery they're recalling (and still selling)?

Of course the banner has no new images on it. Why would it? That would spoil the keynote! And of course it has the Leopard DVD, everyone knows there will be a preview.
And as for all those people saying that there won't be any new consumer products at the keynote... wasn't the iSight announced at a WWDC?
I'm a DEVELOPER and I want a speed bumped iMac, dammit! Not all devs are rich.

Cons...
#1 Movies 640 by 480? No widescreen or animorphic? forget that! I haven't bought a 4x3 movie since 1998
Are you sure they aren't anamorphic? I want to find this out.
Even an anamorphic DVD is still a 4:3 file. It just stretches it out. And Quicktime does support non-square pixels.

...While I appreciate the correlation between poverty and crime, that doesn't adequately explain why Sweden with its incredibly generous welfare system trends the same way as countries with less extensive benefits.
Is it that the welfare system in Sweden, or for that matter the US, isn't enough to adequately shift the strictures of poverty?
Good post, BTW.

Hmm, support of the standards on one hand (see Adobe apps in the Itunes store) and criticism on the other.
The only thing they failed to do is provide a call to action. There is neither a link to Adobe or Apple. They are expecting that people actually care enough about the product that they will search out a way to provide feedback on the topic to the appropriate powers that be.
If they are serious about making it a cause then they need to do something radical. Pull all of their products from the store, even if it is only temporary. Otherwise, it's just talk.

But, my giant WTF goes to the bolded. You really think the Revolutionary War was unnecessary? How else would you have proposed separating from Britain?
It would've saved me a lengthy and costly Visa application process!
But seriously. Gaddafi and his regime has been hated for years, he just managed to stay under the radar with the crazier mofos in the Middle East taking focus.
Sending US or British troops in would be a bad idea, because nobody wants another occupation, but enforcing a no fly zone means a couple of things. We help make the revolution there a slightly leveller playing field. We are responding to all of the reports of distress from human beings.
Obama isn't sending you to war but to assist in a humanitarian effort against a sociopath. I fear that the Islamic nations backing action had sectarian reasons behind their support though.

Finally, I would reiterate that it is not at all racist to take note of, accept, or reasonably comment on these facts. As I've said earlier, to properly combat the problem, one must first understand it. Denouncing the messengers as racist because their conclusions are unpopular will accomplish nothing except perpetuate the problem at hand.
This may be true, but at the same time, the sort of information you present - if true - does lay the framework for some very racist policies (only hiring white people b/c of intelligence, etc).

As has been suggested earlier, by instructing the controller to ignore anomalous input from the sensor, or by kicking in the fans earlier to prevent rapid expansion of the heatsink on startup, or both.
But still its not a total fix is it. If you really push your machine it is likely to shutdown again. Also 'ignoring' a potential fire hazard is a bit dangerous dont you think.

I totally agree with you and I blame the Washington Post for the initial insanity. The headline and article made it sound as if the MacBook was the problem and not the third-party device driver. Obviously, there is a security hole that needs to be addressed by vendors like Apple, but this isn't an Apple hardware problem.
I may have beeen initially too dismissive of the article, but that's because of the sudden yellow tint to all the articles regarding Macintosh security. The tech-press is ready to wet themselves the moment a Macintosh hole is discovered and far too many people, offended by the Get A Mac commercials, have their long knives sharpened and are just waiting for the opportunity to use them. Some were so quick on the draw I suspect they merely read the headline.
The problem is that it was also from a third party device driver from something that almost ZERO people will use with MacBooks ... a USB to wireless adapter. Further, the driver for the third party device had to be installed "PRIOR" to the hack and then also had to access the wireless access point via the terminal ... who does that? And how many people just have the terminal open?

I don't really find it strange that Toys R Us will self, it, they gave a dedicated area for console games and electronics. Apple clearly knows kids love glossy, shine toys. Set the iPad up at the right height at they will find it and mom and dad will cave and buy them one. They already went the Walmart, Target route its not Apple is trying to maintain some image of only BB or Apple stores, they are clearly expanding into any store they can to sell product.
When you see them in a kiosk at McDonalds...then they will be nearing global domination. :)
