I updated the wife's room a bit. Cinema Display against the wall.
Very nice with the Cinema Display on the wall. Great family photo as well; my family pictures are always awful. :)

Wal-Mart is a massive contributor to officeholders in both major U.S. political parties, but especially those in the Republican Party -- so anyone who seriously thinks the company will be given pause by the probable illegality of its proposed actions is dreaming.

But wait! Doesn't Apple's miniscule market-share mean that hackers won't target Macs because there is nothing to be gained? Better off targeting the 95% of Windows-running machines out there? I think this story proves again that the "security through obscurity" argument is just a myth. :)
I wasn't disputing the fact that Apple doesn't have it's share of problems with security. Everyone is sick of hearing Windows problems so as soon as a problems arises with Apple, Linux, UNIX, etc everyone jumps on it.

Hard drives would not be good AT ALL for an iPod Touch. Apps depend on the instant access that flash memory allows for using data, so a hard drive would slow the whole process up, especially on the processor size.
Have you actually measured it or are you just repeating marketers' tales?
No, "it just ought to be faster" is not the answer.
Until the flash storage is directly accessible by the CPU in the very way RAM is, without the need to read data into RAM, the difference is negligible (think early PocketPC). Besides, add the filesystem layer overhead.

It's fascinating how quickly the Democrat party has turned into the party of war...
A couple of points, 5P ...
1. I have never supported this latest military action. All I did in my posts was to point to the law that allows Obama to do what he did. It's the same law that's been used to justify numerous military actions since it's passing by both Democrats and Republicans alike. Pointing to a law and saying "this" is why something is allowed is not the same as endorsing either the law or the action that it permits.
2. Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, and Bill Clinton are proof that Democrats have long been willing and able to use the military. The unfortunate truth is that both parties have been "parties of war" to this very day.

Sounds like a good system. A person can buy a dummy pc if they want, a linux box, or a Mac.
What if they don't have any choice but to buy your product? All of the Windows OEMs are instant customers for Vista, whether they like it or not. This is how the system works for Microsoft.

Also, while looking for iTunes7 I read that v 6.0.5 could send audio to more than one set of remote speakers simultaneously. How do you do that?
If you have two different Airport Expresses, both with speakers attached, you can stream music to both at the same time. This isn't a new feature in 7.0.

Sweet! I have a shortage of my favorite Beatles songs on my iPod. Most of my Beatles CDs had at least one scratch that prevented proper ripping into iTunes.
Apple, you have that fixed in iTunes yet? I'd like to see the Cancel button actually work and also the ability to selectively rip or bypass any one song I want to on my disk.

possibilities:
1. Airport Express 2.0 with support for video streaming or (Airtunes 2.0)
2. Wireless AppleTV
3. WiMax or 3G integrated with new MacBooks
4. Slingbox to iPhone (as already rumored)
5. Some sort of iTunes integration with in-flight entertainment
6. Super-light MacBooks
7. Phil Shiller suspended from the roof using an ingenious system of wires and runners. I'm sure Phil was made to jump through the air with an iBook in 1999 on to a huge safety mat.
Earlier this week I saw a rumor about Apple and Garmin joining forces at this years MacWorld. I hope it's true as I bought some Garmin stock earlier this week and already hold 899 shares of Apple.
Garmin and Disney have partnered (http://www.atmapsend.com/) before and I believe Steve Jobs has more than a passing interest in Disney (board member), so this only adds fuel to the fire.

I think its Apple's fault. Motorola too. Apple always says how an 800MHz Powerbook is better at x and x than a PC, but the PC is still faster at like everything.
Its motorolas problem for not makin faster chips! But its Apples fault for not moving to IBM by now, and Apple is just accepting that they are barely over 1GHz when PCs are moving up on 3GHz

The iTunes Store is SLLLLOOOOOWWWWW!!!!
Dreadfully slow. It took all of a minute to open Safari, go to Macrumors, go to the iPod/iTunes discussion section, come to this thread, and get all the way up to the word "slow" in order for it to come up. :(

It's still there. It's just not shown in the picture.
The iPhone first gen hasn't got a very good camera so I could not get it all on the pic.

They also sold the Atari computer back in 1988
Try back further than that, they sold the Atari 1200XL back in 1983. They sold Atari and C64 software all the way into the early 90s. But, back in those days, most people considered computers to be hobbyist toys. Hence, that's why Toys 'R' Us sold them. K-mart also sold Atari and Commodore home computers. Ah, those were the golden years of computing.

The high-end Nikon sensors are not Sony's.
"While it's widely known that Nikon uses sensors principally designed by Sony in many of its digital SLRs, the D3/D700 sensor is an original Nikon design that is manufactured not by Nikon but by an unspecified sensor fabricator. Prior to the D3, the only other digital SLR models to also feature a sensor created by Nikon were the D2H and D2Hs, and as with those models, Nikon isn't revealing their manufacturing partner for the new sensor. It has a pixel pitch of 8.45m and utilizes 12-channel readout."

I said the following
They make all of Nikons sensors, even the high end D3S and D3X dSLRs ones.
Actually, if you read what he says, he does not say what you think he is saying. The point you are missing is who designs Nikon sensors and who makes Nikon sensors. Yes, Nikon does the design work on many of its sensors, however, the creation (who 'makes' them as I said in my original post) is usually Sony.
Below is a quote FROM NIKON talking about the D3X, the most high en dSLR camera tat Nikon currently offers...
The Nikon D3X’s 24.5-megapixel FX-format (35.9 x 24.0mm) CMOS sensor was developed expressly for the D3X in accordance with Nikon’s stringent engineering requirements and performance standards, with final production executed by Sony. Featuring refined low-noise characteristics, 12 and 14 bit output, Live View capability and more, the D3X’s unique sensor design was carefully blueprinted to perform in perfect concert with proprietary Nikon technologies including EXPEED Image Processing and the Scene Recognition System. Meticulous efforts allowed the sensor to become one of the many essential components and technologies which contribute to the D3X’s superior image fidelity

Are you insane or just trolling? You're complaining because the FREE iPod that Apple is giving to you for FREE is the previous version that was just updated today, even though you're getting it for FREE!!! For you to complain about this makes YOU the rude one. You sound like a spoiled brat whining and complaining because the porche mummy and dada bought you for christmas is black instead of red. There's just no pleasing some people.
Um free is for a limited time only and you have to buy a $1000+ computer. Anyone who buys a $1000+ Mac should get a break on an iPod too. Also, I'm not complaining about the free iPod deal, I'm complaining that students used to get about a $30 break on all iPods year round. There is a reason why there is a whole education section on the Apple Online Store. Without students support, the iPod wouldn't be anywhere near the cultural icon that it is. Guess what, most students don't have a set income but their patronage is very important to Apple and iPods in general. And I'm 25, Mommy and Daddy haven't payed for me for a long time. So now who is trolling. (Hint: the guy who puts offensive posts up with big upper cased red letters)

Just put a retina display into the next revision! The same PPI is not needed hence the greater viewing distance, but 1024x768 is noticeable after using the iPhone 4.
